The Business
The DragonFlye retains its original configuration as a single family dwelling. The current owners have focused on "quality of life" rather than on maximizing the commercial use / potential of the property. In the past, approximately half of the square footage of the structure has been used as a seasonal Inn. This is the perfect place for anyone who wants to summer in Maine, and yet stay active generating a little income. Below is a snap-shot of the business results from the 2007 operating season (the Inn was open for 5 months) and the 2008 operating season:
- 2007 revenue of $77,000 (open for only 5 months)
- 2008 revenue of $70,000 (open for 4 months)
- Reservations for 2007 season (third season in business) topped 22% repeat guests.
- Reservations for 2008 season (fourth season in business) topped 30% repeat guests.
- Business can be easily operated by one energetic couple.
