In the mid 1870’s a Boston merchant originally built this summer cottage on the grounds of Mountain Ash Resort in the village of historic Brooklin, Maine. At the crest of the ridge along Naskeag Point Peninsula, the house was positioned a few short steps from the center of Brooklin village but far enough away from the main road (Highway 175) to ensure privacy and quiet enjoyment.
The structures have been lovingly restored since 2005. With a total of 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, the structure was lightly adapted for use as a 6-guestroom bed and breakfast while maintaining a 2 bedroom owners’ quarters. Careful planning prevented destruction of the structure’s usefulness as a large single-family home.
